David Walliams & wife Lara Stone

David Walliams has been spending time barking like a dog at his wife Lara Stone.

The comedy actor now voices 'Britain's Got Talent' winners acrobatic canine performer Pudsey - who performs alongside his trainer, Ashleigh Butler - in a new movie and has been using his latest character's voice on his partner.

Speaking on ITV's 'Lorraine' he said: "I'm doing the voice. That dog he can do so many tricks and he's so brilliantly trained by Ashley and her family.

"I started doing the voice for my wife, 'Hello there. Oh yes miss Ashleigh, Oh yes I will do a trick. But I want a treat first.' "

The film will tell the story of Pudsey's adventures in the fictional village of Chuffington-on-Sea, and his attempts to save the sleepy setting when he finds out about an evil plot to destroy it.

Several stars have also signed up for the motion picture including Emmerdale's Luke Tittensor and 'Harry Potter' actress Jessica Hynes with BGT boss Simon Cowell set to voice one of Pudsey's pooch pals.

However, production on the film had to be halted at the beginning of the week when he chomped too many sandwiches and had to be taken to the vet with an upset stomach.

A source told The Sun newspaper: "Pudsey just wasn't being himself last Sunday and then started writhing around in agony. Producers had a fit as he's the star and the movie still has some way to go. He's in virtually every scene so production had to be shut down, costing thousands.

"He was taken to the vet, but it appeared he'd just been scoffing too much rich human food which didn't agree with him. He gets given ham sandwiches and he'd eaten quite a few."
