The 63-year-old comedian will judge a group of aspiring queens on their acting, singing, and sewing skills alongside the 59-year-old drag queen.

Speaking on Jessie Ware's ‘Table Manners’ podcast, the star said: "Here's a spoiler I'm going to give you, a little scoop – I'm going to be one of the guest judges.”

The competition sees the contestants compete in weekly challenges to be named the next Drag Superstar by the judges.

Last season saw RuPaul and Michelle Visage joined by Alan Carr and Graham Norton.

However, Dawn revealed she was originally asked to join the panel full-time but wasn’t able to as she doesn’t live in London.

She added: "They did originally ask me if I would be a full-time judge, but I couldn't – because I just don't live in London. But I am going to be a guest judge in a couple of weeks."

The second series is due to start filming in a few weeks and the production crew are taking extra measures to stop the spread of coronavirus, with Perspex screens set to be placed between each judge.

But Dawn is devastated as it means she won’t be able to get up close and personal to RuPaul.

She explained: "I think there's going to be sort of Perspex between each judge kind of thing, so I won't be able to touch Ru. That's a shame, because I really do want to touch Ru!"

Alan is hoping the queens have used their time in lockdown wisely and focused on honing their skills.

He said: "It's also good for some of the drag queens who maybe their sewing wasn't that good – because in the lockdown, if they've got any sense, they'd be on that sewing machine, with that pedal down! No excuse."
