The 46-year-old actress is currently training for the new series of the ice skating show, but her significant other Eddie Boxshall would prefer it if she didn't perform the death-defying lift - in which a skater's partner grabs them by their ankles and spins them around in mid-air - because she is "clumsy".

Denise - who has 10-year-old daughter Betsy with her ex Lee Mead - explained: "He actually said, 'Please don't do the headbanger.' Ha. He knows how clumsy I am.

"He's really supportive and Betsy's dad, Lee, is brilliant, too.

"They've got everything covered and will look after Betsy when I need it."

But the 'Neighbours' actress doesn't look likely to attempt the scary-looking lift anyway, as she "can't take the risk" because of her daughter.

When asked if she will be brave enough to try the headbanger, she told OK! magazine: "I just don't think that will happen - I can't take the risk. Not with Betsy.

"Ten years ago I would have said yes, but when you've got a child you just want to stay safe."

In mid-October, Denise confirmed Matt Evers was her skating partner and said he was moving in with her as they formed a bubble amid the coronavirus pandemic.

The pair donned matching outfits as they attended Proud Embankment in London, where Matt got down on one knee to ask Denise to be his skating partner.

He said: "Denise - will you be my ice-skating partner for 'Dancing on Ice' 2020?"

She replied: "Yes I will."

Denise admitted she is "so happy" to have been partnered with Matt.

She wrote at the time: "Last night @proudembankment was pretty special for me. I found out who my ice pro is for the next few months. @themattevers. I am so HAPPY!! I adore Matt. I literally cannot wait to get into skate school with my new teacher and knuckle down to work. I promise to be a good student and to always listen & learn Matt, because you’re the best and you rock! Come and lockdown with my family in Chelmsford and let’s create some lovely memories. Skate School starts this coming week. Bring it on! @dancingonice @itv

(For the record. Matt and I were both tested before our meet/embrace. We are now in a bubble so we can work together. Matt will be moving into our home for maximum safety) @dancingonice #mattevers #bubble #staysafe (sic)"
