The 'This Morning' presenter has ruled out appearing on the BBC ballroom competition, despite his wife Ruth Langsford taking to the dance floor last year.

He told Digital Spy: "It's never, ever, ever, ever going to happen. I am in awe of the people that do it and the time that they give to do it.

"You know when you have to think you must really want to do something or like to do something? It doesn't float my boat."

The star also revealed that his wife is still in touch with her fellow contestants, and he joked it's "quite sad" to see how much she misses it.

He added: "She is actually, it's quite sad to watch. Her and contestants from last year are all in this WhatsApp group and they all text each other and talk about what's going on.

"She sits in front of that TV and I say, 'Why do you miss that?' And she says, 'Shut up shut up, leave me alone'. She has a drink and watches it all.

"The people that have taken part in it, they all go through a bereavement process where they all want to see who their dancer is with and what's happening there. They talk all the time. It's definitely a club of past people."

Eamonn previously suggested he would have been up for appearing on 'Celebrity Big Brother' if his wife had let him enter the famous house.

He said: "She doesn't allow me to do it."

To which Ruth chirped: "No, I just think they'd have you in your pants snoring."

Eamonn also revealed he's approached every year by bosses at Channel 5 about taking part in the reality TV show but he has to turn them down every single time because his spouse would be too embarrassed by his behaviour.

He told BANG Showbiz: "I know they do ask me in fairness. But Ruth doesn't allow it. She is like I don't want people to see you with your hair standing on end, working around in your underwear. She is very protective."
