The 45-year-old TV presenter has already begun preparing for the gruelling walk alongside her showbiz pal, who is doing the trek in support of CoppaFeel!, the breast cancer awareness and education charity.

She revealed: "I’ve bought walking boots, which is a first in my life."

Emma - who is married to pop star Matt Willis - joined the charitable effort after seeing the mothers of three of her friends being diagnosed with breast cancer.

She told Mirror Online: "I’ve witnessed the effects that breast cancer has, not only on the person who is diagnosed but on their surrounding family and loved-ones, through the eyes of three of my closest friends, whose mums have all suffered from the disease.

"So I’ve seen it and how it affected them. So, I mean, it’s something that I’m always more than willing to do. I’ll do anything I can to help in any way."

Emma - who has Trixie, four, Ace, nine and Isabelle, 11, with Matt - has wanted to help raise money for a cancer charity for some time.

And the TV presenter decided to commit to the trek amid the lockdown, before her diary filled up once again.

Emma said: "I think it’s nice that, hopefully, as we are coming out of a pretty full-on year where we haven’t been allowed to venture anywhere, the possibility of doing something like that for this reason actually feels pretty right."

Speaking about the charity, she added: "What I love about CoppaFeel! is that it’s all about education and educating people as young as you can, that it can happen to anyone at any point.

"And the best thing you can possibly do is to know the signs, find them early. That way you have hopefully a better chance of getting through it."
