The 'Emmerdale' actor - who has played the villainous character on the ITV soap since last year - has weighed in on upcoming scenes when his alter ego is confronted by Liv Flaherty (Isobel Steele) shortly before he's set to get married to Mandy Dingle (Lisa Riley).

Next week, Liv will discover the truth about his violence towards his son Vinny (Bradley Johnson), and now Reece has opened up on whether or not Paul could hurt Liv.

He told Digital Spy: "We've never seen any proof of Paul ever hitting a woman. We know that his father hit him – he was a drunkard and a gambler who'd come home and beat him.

"Paul learned very quickly how to protect himself and learned how to hit other people and share that terrible violence. But there's no evidence of him ever hitting a woman.

"However, he's a cornered animal now. He's trapped, he's in a barn and there's somebody with all the cards.

"Liv has got all the cards, all the facts, all the truth, and she's also got Aaron holed up in the Dingle house with Vinny and they're talking at one end."

Reece admitted his character will deny any wrongdoing at first, before realising he's lost "his control" over the situation.

He added: "When Liv corners Paul, he does this thing that he always does – denies, denies, denies to start with.

"But she's got everything, so the more she says this, that and the other, you just see Paul losing his control.

"I can't say too much, but he takes it to a point where there's that decision – would he put her in danger or not? And we go right to the wire with that."
