The former 'Geordie Shore' star - who has quit the show after six years to focus on fatherhood - has opened up about how surreal it is to be a dad to his son Chester Raymond Beadle McVey, who his girlfriend Emma McVey gave birth to on January 15.

He told the latest issue of OK! magazine: "It's just mad that there's a little human. Honestly, it still feels weird. I don't understand how you create this.

"I was hysterical. I'm responsible. I still ring my mam if I'm in a panic. I rely on that person even now, so it's mad that I'm now that for him. It will never sink in, I don't think."

Emma had a difficult birth having to undergo a C-Section, and Gaz admits he was "fighting back the tears" as he watched on helplessly.

He said: "I was fighting back tears as it was happening and I was thinking to myself, don't cry!

"I was turning away as it was happening. It's the weirdest thing. It's mad."

The 29-year-old hunk admits before Chester was born life felt "repetitive" because he'd just go out and get drunk with his pals.

On becoming a father, he said: "It's not about you any more. I was excited to do something different.

"I thought, there's got to be more to life than going out every weekend drinking, being hungover on Sundays and then going for some food with your mates in the week and planning a holiday. Life was so repetitive before Chester."
