The 'Gogglebox' star was left devastated after the 83-year-old retired teacher sadly passed away in December, and she is set to put pen to paper to tell their life story to the world after striking a deal with Blink Publishing for 'Leon and June: Our Story'.

She told the Bonnier Publishing website: "I'm very flattered and pleased to have been asked to write this book.

"Leon often said he'd like to write our story so now I can do it for him."

June's book will be a tribute to Leon and look back at the couple's 60 years together.

Kelly Ellis, editorial director at Blink Publishing, said: "Leon and June have spent so much time in our living rooms and us in theirs that they feel like an extended part of the family.

"I adore them. They represent everything I love about the British and I can only hope I'm as happy and loved by the time I reach their age.

"Their gentle ribbing of each other on 'Gogglebox' and Leon's cheeky jokes were always the perfect tonic on a Friday evening.

"Like the rest of the nation, I was bereft at the sad loss of Leon.

"He will be so sorely missed but we hope, together with the wonderful June, we can create a legacy for him that lives on with this incredibly moving book.

"It will be a true celebration of love, life and friendship as well as a touching tribute to a man who was loved by so many."

June and Leon were founding cast members of 'Gogglebox', but she revealed to a fan she had quit following her husband's death.

After a fan asked on Twitter, "Would you do the show with one of your daughters? X (sic)", June responded: "It was a great adventure with a great finale with the NTA (sic)"
