The BBC One comedy is going to follow in the steps of popular sitcom 'Mrs Brown's Boys' by airing a live show during its next instalment in 2019 after its writer and actor Lee Mack realised he could make more money by doing so.

Speaking to the Daily Mirror newspaper, he said: "This is series nine and already we are working on series 10. And we are doing a live one. When I heard other people were doing them, I thought 'Why do they bother doing that, it doesn't aid the quality'. And then they showed me the money and I thought, 'why not?'".

However, the 49-year-old stand-up comedian is slightly concerned about going live.

He said: "I do live stuff but if it goes wrong in the sitcom I can't go to the guy in the front row 'Where are you from? He shouldn't be in my front room."

The show kicked off its ninth series last night (08.03.18) as Lee and his on-screen wife Lucy volunteered to help clear up her father's kitchen mess - but things don't go according to plan.

Fans can expect to see a family pet join the storyline this series, which Lee hopes will teach the children how to be responsible.
