The 27-year-old star - who plays Rosie Webster - will take a break from the cobbles later this month ahead of giving birth to her and her footballer partner Scott Sinclair's second child, and she "definitely" wants to return to Weatherfield at some point.

Captioning a picture of herself and her on-screen mum Sally Dynevor (Sally Metcalfe), she wrote: "Love this pic we took the other day on set, love this lady xxx my last month @coronationstreet before my maternity leave going to miss everyone so much especially my screen mum and sister @brookelevivincent definitely want to return as Rosie just not sure when that will be xxx (sic)"

Helen - who has two-year-old daughter Matilda with Scott - initially played Rosie from 2000 to 2012 but left the role only to return last year.

The former 'Holby City' star confirmed in December she was expecting her second child, but admitted she and former Aston Villa star Scott hadn't planned to have another baby so soon after Matilda.

She said: "I was very happy, but I was a bit taken aback as this baby wasn't in the plan. I knew I would feel a lot better once I'd told Scott."

He said: "It was a little bit of a surprise.

"I was away in Dubai with my family. Helen couldn't come as she was filming. She found out on a Thursday but had to wait until I got home five days later to tell me."
