Hollyoaks' Gary Lucy loved "smashing the place up" with some of the soap's "originals" for the show's latest stunt week.

The 37-year-old star's character Luke Morgan is heavily involved in next week's stunt - as are the likes of characters Cindy Cunningham (Steph Waring), and Darren Osborne (Ashley Taylor Dawson) - when he inadvertently causes the collapse of part of the village when he takes control of a crane.

Gary said: "I really enjoyed it. In true 'Hollyoaks' style everyone pulled together and it was a pleasure to be a part of.

"I can't wait to see the end result because everyone has worked really hard on it, both cast and crew.

"I was happy that it was the originals back together smashing the place up.

"'Hollyoaks' stunt week is always a week to look forward to in the calendar.

"The last stunt I was involved in was when they blew up the school and it was fantastic.

"This particular stunt week is centred around a crane, which is perilously standing on the uneven ground above the roman tunnels.

"Luke falls off the wagon and ultimately he unintentionally wrecks the 'Hollyoaks' village."

The former 'Footballers' Wives' star admits it always feels like he is "back at home" when he returns to the Channel 4 soap.

He said: "I've loved being back, it's been great.

"I've got so many friends at 'Hollyoaks', so many old time friends, it's just lovely.

"It honestly feels like I'm back at home every time I walk through the door and they always welcome me with open arms.

"I'm thoroughly enjoying it and looking forward to the stories going forward."
