The 43-year-old actor - who plays the titular character in the crime drama - will be joined by the funnyman and the beautiful actress for a one off sketch that will be shown as part of a star-studded night of Sport Relief TV on the BBC.

Speaking about the hilarious skit, Idris explained: "I don't want to reveal too much about the sketch but viewers at home are in for a real treat as they'll get to see a new side of Luther, which I'm really excited about. I'm proud to be supporting such an amazing cause and hope that everyone gets involved and does their bit for Sport Relief this year."

The evening's proceedings will be hosted by comic John Bishop, retired footballer Gary Lineker, 'Britain's Got Talent' judge David Walliams and 'Strictly Come Dancing' co-host Claudia Winkleman and will be broadcast on March 18 live from Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park.

Stars getting involved in the charity's events include TV favourites; 'Countryfile's Anita Rani, 'Made in Chelsea' star Jamie Laing, Spice Girl Mel C and Rachel Riley, who have also provided their faces for the official Sport Relief t-shirt.

The iconic BT Sport Relief challenge, which last year saw Davina McCall complete a 500-mile triathlon from Edinburgh to London, will also make a return this year, as will the Great Sport Relief Bake Off as a fresh batch of 16 celebrities compete in the ultimate baking battle to raise as much cash as possible for the cause.
