Jackie Weaver's husband is keen for her to partner up with Anton Du Beke on this year's 'Strictly Come Dancing'.

The 63-year-old councillor shot to fame earlier this year when Zoom footage of a Handforth Parish Council meeting she was part of went viral as insults were exchanged, and she then removed a councillor from the online gathering.

And now, Jackie could set to become the next 'Strictly' star as she refused to rule out the chance to partner Anton, and her significant other Stuart admitted he would be in the audience if she signs up for the BBC Latin and ballroom show.

Speaking to Lorraine Kelly on 'Lorraine' about potentially joining forces with Anton for this year's 'Strictly', she said: "Has anybody checked in with him [Anton] how he feels about this? Terrified probably."

Quizzed on whether Jackie can dance, Stuart replied: "Of course she can."

Jackie joked: "I didn't know he was such a good liar."

But Lorraine is keen for councillor to appear on the show.

She said: "Yes, let's make this happen."

Stuart replied: "Yes, I'll be there."

Should Jackie star on 'Strictly' this year it won't be her first major TV appearance of 2021.

Last week, she opened up the BRIT Awards as part of a 'Line of Duty'-style sketch alongside host Jack Whitehall, and the drama's stars Vicky McClure and Martin Compston.

The skit mimicked the infamous council meeting, during which Jackie joked to Jack: "Listen up you little twirp, if you don’t get on with this then I’ll kick you off."

Jack replied: "Jackie Weaver you have no authority here."

Jackie then kicked him off the Zoom meeting.
