James Argent wants his ex Gemma Collins to book his band for her wedding

The 'TOWIE' star admits he is "really pleased" for his ex - who split from him in 2020 after they were on/off boyfriend and girlfriend for years - after she recently confirmed she and partner Rami Hawash are planning to tie the knot, and the 34-year-old singer is hoping she will book his The Arg Band for the evening entertainment at her nuptials.

He said: "I got to know Rami well in the early days of filming 'TOWIE' so I’m really pleased for her.

"If she does get married, she needs to make sure she books The Arg Band because we would love to play the GC and Rami’s wedding."

Arg recently appeared to plead with his ex to "call of her engagement" to Rami, when he was spotted holding up a board at the PDC World Darts Championship at London's Alexandra Palace this week.

But the star has admitted it was just "lads' banter", and says Gemma "saw the funny side".

He said: "As everyone knows, you go to the Darts and you write something silly on the boards.

"It was just lads’ banter. I know for a fact Gemma wasn’t offended - she saw the funny side."

Arg - who shed 13 stone last year after undergoing a £10,000 gastric sleeve operation - has been romantically linked to another of his exes, fellow 'TOWIE' star Lydia Bright, of late.

But the singer insists the pair won't reconcile in case it "jeopardises" their great friendship.

He added to the Daily Mirror newspaper: "We want to be in each other’s lives forever. She’s one of my closest friends. We care about each other and respect each other but we think anything else than staying friends would jeopardise that.

"I want to be able to see Lydia when I’m not having a good day as she’s somebody I turn to for help, but we can’t do that at the minute because we get pictured and everyone says, 'They’re back together'.

"She’s got great guys out there who might want to date her and won’t bother asking her because they think that she’s seeing me, and I have girls who think, 'Hang on, aren’t you with Lydia,' so they don’t bother with me either. It’s frustrating."

Arg admitted this week that after shedding 13 stone following his surgery, he wants to "bulk up" and put some weight back on.

He said: "I’ve lost a little bit more than what I wanted to, so I want to get more toned, bulk up a little bit and maybe even put on half a stone."
