The 35-year-old actor - who plays Martin Fowler on the long-running BBC One soap - has revealed he and his spouse would love to get the chance to get to say their vows in front of all three of their kids, following the arrival of their son Hugo on February 20.

James - who also has Edward, five, and Louis, two, with Victoria - told the latest issue of OK! Magazine: "Yes, it would be lovely to have our children around us and for them to see us say: 'You're still the one.'"

The soap star says he and Victoria - who tied the knot in 2012 - are "blessed" to have three "healthy" kids and wouldn't rule out having more.

Asked whether they plan to add to their brood, he said: "We've been blessed with three healthy children, so we count ourselves lucky, but never say never."

James admitted that being a family of three has made them "closer".

He said: "We feel closer. With three children, if you're not a team you'd have no chance."

The pair went through a tough time before Hugo arrived, as Victoria suffers from endometriosis, and James has recalled the "emotional" moment he jumped into the birthing pool to be the first to hold his newborn son.

Victoria recalled: "I said to James: 'Please help me!' I felt a big splash and James was next to me in the birthing pool."

He added: "Being the first to hold Hugo made me so emotional."

His wife said: "We both sat there sobbing with happiness, holding him in the birthing pool."

Meanwhile, James' co-star Lacey Turner - who plays his on-screen wife Stacey Slater - is currently pregnant with her first child after suffering two devastating miscarriages with husband Matt Kay, and he says he's "always there" for the 31-year-old actress.

He said: "I'm always there for Lacey. I was over the moon for her and Matt when she told me she was pregnant."
