The Pulp musician and the Happy Mondays rocker will feature in a one-off episode of the popular daytime TV show to mark BBC Music Day on September 28th.

Jarvis and Bez will be joined by Rowetta Idah and Candida Doyle - members of their iconic bands - as they go head-to-head whilst rummaging through antique goods in search of a profit.

Rowetta - who recorded and toured with the Happy Mondays from 1991 to 2000 - took to social media to encourage fans to tune in.

She wrote on Twitter: "BBC News just announced that the show that Bez & I have been working on is a BBC Music Day - Bargain Hunt Special with Jarvis & Candida from Pulp.

The programme will air in September!

You do not want to miss this! (sic)"

Audiences can also expect to see a special edition of 'Pointless', which will feature musicians Lianne La Havas, Ella Eyre, Amy Macdonald and Lesley Garrett along with a number of BBC radio presenters.

Kylie Minogue will mark the annual Music Day by voicing train announcements at stations across the UK while encouraging commuters to do the Locomotion dance.

The 50-year-old pop princess said: "I truly believe in the power of music to bring joy and lift the soul.

"Hopefully my little messages for train passengers will be a nice surprise and a reminder of the power of music."

Speaking about the BBC event - which is in its fourth year - the director of BBC Music, Bob Shennan said: "The UK is truly a nation of music lovers.

"BBC Music Day aims to bring the nation together to celebrate this, from pop and rock to classical and choirs and everything in between. There really is something for everyone to enjoy!"
