The 52-year-old actor hasn't seen any of his fellow celebrity contestants in action on the ice yet, and admitted when he performs in front of them for the first time it will be like "giving birth to that moment".

He explained: "I haven't seen anyone, not a single person, which I'm actually very anxious about because it's sort of like you're giving birth to that moment."

Jason feels particularly anxious about the thought of performing in front of his 'Dancing on Ice' rivals.

The 'Especially for You' hitmaker told 'Good Morning Britain': "I think it's even more daunting because they're sort of assessing their own possibilities in a way."

Jason admitted to being completely out of his comfort zone on the ice.

However, the former 'Neighbours' star is enjoying having more structure in his life amid the coronavirus pandemic.

He shared: "There has been a big gap in terms of work this year, because of lack of theatre work, lack of live work. And you know, to keep fit particularly ... I've always felt that mental health and physical fitness always go hand in hand."

Although Jason is anxious about appearing on the show, he's also determined to embrace the experience.

The actor revealed he's created a new motto as seeks to excel on the programme.

Jason - who starred on 'Strictly Come Dancing' back in 2011 - said: "In the back of my mind, I'm not a skater. I love the thrill, I love the adrenaline.

"No risk, no magic is my current phrase at the moment and I'm going to bring personality and fun and it's going to be great."
