The British powerlifter has confirmed she has departed her role as Esther Bloom after seven years on the Channel 4 soap because the "time was just right" after her on-screen grandmother Helen Pearson (Frankie Osborne) left the show last year.

She said: "I've had such a wonderful time at 'Hollyoaks' over the past eight years and have had the chance to work with the most amazing people, but my character no longer having Frankie around meant the time was just right for Esther to move on."

Jazmine has thanked the 'Hollyoaks' fans for their support following her seven years on the soap.

She added to Digital Spy: "I just want to say a massive thank you to the cast, crew and fans of the show for all of their support and I hope you follow me onto my next chapter."

While it's not known how Esther will depart the village in the coming weeks, some 'Oaks' fans have speculated she could meet her maker at the hands of Darcy Wilde (Aisling Jarrett-Gavin), who has already bumped off Tracey Donovan (Lisa Maxwell).

In the latest 'Hollyoaks' spring trailer, released by the soap yesterday (10.04.18), Esther was shown pleading with Jack Osborne (Jimmy McKenna) to dump his fiancee Darcy.

She says: "She's out to steal everything from this family. You should be protecting us, not her. Sack the marriage off and kick her out."

Jazmine's decision comes after she recently revealed she is training for the British Powerlifting Championships.

She said: "I'm training for the British Powerlifting Championships.

"It's about lifting the most weight through powerlifts, squat lifts, deadlifts.

"I'd done weights for years but my trainer told me that I was strong enough to enter competitions."
