It’s something fans of Friends have been asking for ever since the hit sitcom came to an end, and now Jennifer Aniston is getting everybody’s hopes up after saying in a chat with Ellen DeGeneres that, under the right circumstances, a reunion is within the “realm of possibility”.

“Anything is a possibility, Ellen,” she said. “Anything! I mean, George Clooney got married! That’s like, anything can happen! I think it’s wonderful.”

Now, it’s by no means a confirmation of a planned reunion or an official statement on the matter, but it will leave the fire in the bellies of Friends fans lightly fanned.

The comments come a few weeks after a fake trailer for a Friends movie, made up of pieces of footage from various shows and films the cast have been a part of throughout their careers, did the rounds online and convinced the masses that a film would be coming to the big screen.

Aniston has kept busy and will this year be returning to television in Apple’s first ever scripted drama series. Currently untitled, the comedy series will also star Reese Witherspoon and could turn out to be one of the biggest new shows of the year.

No broadcaster has yet been linked to the show, but we imagine it will be airing on some of the biggest channels or services the world has to offer if it’s coming from Apple and has such big names involved!

It will mark the first time Aniston has worked consistently in TV since her portrayal of Rachel Green in Friends, as the actress has stuck to movies and a couple of guest-starring roles in the likes of Cougar Town and 30 Rock.

We can’t wait to see what’s in store when the comedy show does make its debut, and hopefully it will open the door even further to a Friends reunion down the line!
