After an incredible first season, HBO Max confirmed that The White Lotus would be making a comeback with a bunch of fresh faces including Aubrey Plaza (Parks & Recreation), Michael Imperioli (The Sopranos) and F. Murray Abraham (Scarface).
Having stolen the show in Season 1 as Tanya McQuoid however, it's now been revealed that fan-favourite actress Jennifer Coolidge will be making a return; the only regular from the series' debut to do so.
McQuoid's personality is one that resonated with audiences from the jump. She wasn't afraid to let her hair down and have a good time, with a glass of something alcoholic in her hand, but that wasn't what made her such a thrill to watch.
Instead, it was her almost complete lack of social understanding, where she would miss social cues and even get to a point where she offered to fund a new best friend's business idea, before backing out entirely, that made her such a joy.
She was unpredictable, so whenever she appeared on screen, we were glued. Hopefully, that's an energy Coolidge is able to recapture when she makes her comeback.
After focusing on a luxury resort in Hawaii in Season 1, this new batch of episodes will take place in Italy, with production having already started in Sicily. Despite the fresh setting, we're sure the high-glamour and excitement so prominent in 2021's offering will be present once more.
Theo James (Divergent), Meghann Fahy (The Bold Type), Will Sharpe (Flowers) and Leo Woodall (Cherry) were all also recently announced as joining the cast. A stunning roster of talent, to say the very least!
As for the exact narrative Season 2 will follow? That all remains to be seen. Writer and director Mike White is keeping his cards close to his chest, and we can't blame him. Bring on the speculation...
We'll bring you more news surrounding the second season of The White Lotus as and when we get it!
