Jimmy Carr wants to host 'Top Gear.'

The 43-year-old comedian may have been described as "the worst driver" they've ever had on the programme by The Stig in the past but that hasn't stopped him dreaming of landing a co-presenting gig alongside Chris Evans on the BBC show.

Speaking to DigitalSpy, he said: "If it comes up, yeah, call me! Call me straight away. I would do that in a heartbeat. I think it's maybe the best job in television."

However, Jimmy may not get a chance to prove himself as Chris, 49, recently hinted he may front the motoring show - which was previously anchored by Jeremy Clarkson, James May and Richard Hammond - alone because he wants to do things "differently" to the previous format of the programme.

He said: "We are going to do things differently, because we have to, we want to. The second you wander off into the 'Well I'm the main host, and this is my mate over here and my mate over here'... if there's three of you, and you go and make a film together, suddenly you're doing what they did."

It has been speculated the new-look show will feature a live element after Chris confirmed he plans to make some dramatic changes to the old studio format.

He said: "We're going to change that. I can't tell you into what. I know, by the way, but I can't say at the moment."

However, he insisted not everything on the show will change and one aspect that looks likely to stay is the show's mystery masked driver The Stig.

Chris teased: "I don't want to say anything specific, but The Stig is here today - that might be a clue as to whether he's here tomorrow."
