Dame Judi Dench, Pixie Lott, Joe Lycett, Alex Scott and Josh Widdicombe are among the stars who will appear in the new series of 'Who Do You Think You Are?'.

The 'Skyfall' actress will unearth some Danish roots and some Shakespearean connections when she appears on the BBC One show, which sees celebrities trace their family trees to find out about their ancestors.

The 86-year-old star begins looking into her father Reginald's life, as he never spoke of his experiences during the First World War.

Her investigations later lead her to Denmark, and nobility.

Former Labour politician Ed Balls will also delve into his family tree, and he will discover a grim reality.

What's more, singer Pixie will find out about a musical legacy three-generations long when she appears in the genealogy series.

Former footballer Alex Scott will learn about her Jewish and Jamaican heritage, where she will find out about tremendous hardship and suffering, as well as some uncomfortable and upsetting history.

And comedian Joe will find out his two-times-great grandfather was a boy chimney sweep in the 1850s.

The new series of 'Who Do You Think You Are?' launches on BBC One this October.
