Julien Macdonald became the third celebrity to be voted off 'Strictly Come Dancing' tonight (20.10.13).

The fashion designer, 42, and his professional partner Janette Manrara were forced to leave the dancing competition after they lost a dance-off against TV presenter Rachel Riley and her partner Pasha Kovalev.

All of the judges, Bruno Tonioli, Len Goodman, Craig Revel Horwood and Darcey Bussell, opted to save Rachel, who performed the Quickstep to 'Johnny Got a Boom Boom' by Imelda May, in favour of Julien, who danced the salsa to the Spice Girls' hit 'Spice Up Your Life.'

Darcey said: "Both performances were 100 times better but for me it goes down to the difficulty of the dance and because of that I would like to save Rachel and Pasha."

Julien wasn't upset about the judges' decision and said: "I'd like to thank everyone at home for voting for me, all the audiences and the judges - even Craig!

"Most of all I've had an amazing time and this has been the best experience of my life and I've left on a high, I hope I have spiced everybody's night up."

Janette added: "I don't think I have ever met anyone that has put in more hours to try and make it happen. I am so glad I had Julien as my first partner on Strictly."

'Strictly Come Dancing' returns to BBC One on Saturday 26 October at 6:30pm with the results show also on BBC One on Sunday 27 October at 7:20pm.
