The 'Strictly Come Dancing' professional dancers announced their split in February, but the 35-year-old star has admitted there is a chance they could work things out in the future.

Speaking to The Sun Online, she said: "I don't know what's going to happen in the future, but I think it's really important when you're both open and real about what's happening, and we're both really upfront about it, but anything can happen."

Karen admitted relationships can become "very stale", but the pair are taking time to figure things out.

She explained: "It's easier to hide than be open about things, but nothing has to crumble right away, sometimes people need time to heal and reflect what it is we need to do.

"I love working with Kevin, I think he's an amazing dancer and I want to keep the relationship with him. We've both been very clear about what we want to do, I think that sometimes relationships can get very stale.

"Obviously we have a lot of respect for each other and we both dance together, we're going on tour, that's huge for us, and dancing has always been a bond for us, and we'll always stay a unit either way."

Karen insisted she hasn't moved on from Kevin with another man, preferring to concentrate on her career and her pet pooch for the time being.

She insisted: "No I am not dating, I'm just focusing on my career and this tour, I have my dog Betty to take care of, and lots of projects."
