The former 'Emmerdale' star took home the Glitterball trophy after triumphing on the latin and ballroom show on Saturday (14.12.19), beating Karim Zeroual and Amy Dowden and Emma Barton and Anton Du Beke to the crown.

Kelvin said: "I'm absolutely speechless. I did not expect that. It's been such a privilege to be here. I think this show represents everything that is amazing with the country. I think the people personify what is great. It's such a privilege ... Oti, thank you for the most amazing experience of my life. Thank you to Karim, Emma, Amy and Anton and all the professionals and celebrities. You've been amazing. The judges, everybody at home whose supported. I feel so proud to be part of this. From the bottom of my heart, thank you."

Oti also had some beautiful words for Kelvin, thanking him for the "best gift".

Speaking to hosts Tess and Claudia, she shared: "I've been on this show for five years and I have never ever met any celebrity who gives his heart, his everything, his soul. If something's not working, we stay in training and sort it. And not because we want to win but because he genuinely genuinely loves dancing. This is the best gift and the best ending to my year."

Runner up Karim was also so proud of Kelvin and Oti.

He shared: "I've loved every single second of it. I'm so humbled to be here. These two are so talented. It is an honour to share the floor with you."

Kelvin impressed the audience at home and the judges - Motsi Mabuse, Shirley Ballas, Bruno Tonioli and Craig Revel Horwood - with his charleston, an action packed all round show dance as well as his famous week one samba.

Despite not winning, it was a great night for Karim and Amy, who topped the judges' leaderboard with a nearly perfect 119 points out of 20, with Kelvin and Oti just one point behind on 118 and Emma and Anton with 116 points.

Fans who tuned into the show were treated to a stunning performance by pop megastar Taylor Swift of her new track 'Lover', whilst the Class of 2019 returned for a show-stopping dance to celebrate the end of the series.
