The former 'Coronation Street' star married Army Major Scott Ratcliff earlier this month, and her dad Dave, who was diagnosed with terminal prostate cancer earlier this year, gave her away on her big day.

Kym said: "There were tears when he walked me down the aisle and when I gave him a kiss as he sat down – there were lots of tears surrounding my dad that day.

"I wanted him to walk me and he managed to do the entire length of the aisle, which I didn’t expect him to do.

"When I saw Scott and how handsome he was in his uniform, it was just like, 'Wow.' "

The happy couple married at the Royal Memorial Chapel at Royal Military Academy Sandhurst.

And Kym wore a necklace featuring a cherub to "symbolise" her late son Archie, who tragically passed away minutes after he was born 18 weeks premature in 2009.

She said: "[My children] David, Emilie and Polly bought it for me as a Mother’s Day present to symbolise Archie.

"I never take it off and I really wanted to wear it as it represents Archie.

The other thing we did was have yellow roses dotted around.

"The yellow rose is Archie’s flower, so we decided we’d put them around the place to symbolise him."

Kym also ensured her kids David, 26, Emilie, 23, and Polly, 10, had special roles on her big day.

She told OK! magazine: "They were all in the bridal party. Emilie was my chief bridesmaid. David was one of Scott’s ushers.

"My Polly was chief of the little bridesmaids."

Kym's grandson Teddy, two, was her page boy.

The star previously admitted she was keen to marry this year to ensure her dad could walk her down the aisle.
