The 'Love Island' host - who is expecting her first child with her husband Iain Stirling, who narrates the ITV2 dating show - is open to the idea, especially knowing she can turn her placenta into sweet treats such as jelly beans or gummy bears.

Speaking to her 'Celebrity Juice' co-star Keith Lemon on Instagram Live, she said: "You can make anything out of a placenta these days.

"I like jelly beans or they could make it into gummy bears - I'd give that a go."

Laura even suggested she'd let Keith and the rest of the comedy panel show's team try her special confectionery.

She added: "I'll bring it in and share. It's full of iron and really good stuff."

While not medically confirmed, it is thought by some that eating the placenta can raise energy levels, improve the quantity of breast milk a new mother produces, and it could also lower chances of insomnia and postpartum depression.

Should Laura chow down on her placenta, she will join a long list of celebrities who have decided to do so, including Coleen Rooney and Kourtney Kardashian.

And earlier this year, Charlotte Dawson - who gave birth to son Noah on January 26th - admitted she had a freezer bag ready and waiting for her placenta.

The former ‘Ex on the Beach’ star – who is the daughter of late comedian Les Dawson – said: "I've got a freezer bag for freezing my placenta ready. I'm getting it made into pills and tablets."
