The iconic drama series - which centred on the lives of twenty-something law graduates sharing a London house - garnered controversy for its depictions of drug use and casual sex in the 90s, but it's now poised to be revived by TV bosses.

A source said: "'This Life' was one of those shows that was short-lived but created a huge stir when it first aired.

"It tackled issues which were still relatively taboo in the mid-Nineties. Development of the reboot is still in its very early stages."

It's not yet known whether the reboot will feature a set of fresh faces or star the original cast.

An insider admitted that it could ultimately feature a "combination of both".

The source told The Sun newspaper: "It’s not clear whether it will feature a new line-up of twenty-somethings, or star the original cast. It could be a combination of both."

And although the series is in early development, the BBC - which originally aired the show - is still yet to commission anything.

The source added: "At this stage it hasn’t been commissioned by the Beeb, which would be the new series’ natural home. That means if it does get revived, it could spark a bidding war to air the finished product."

The original series launched the careers of 'Love Actually' star Andrew Lincoln and Jack Davenport, who went on to star as James Norrington in the 'Pirates of the Caribbean' franchise.

In recent years, a host of well-known TV shows have been revived by broadcasters, including 90s classic 'Cold Feet', which enjoyed a second run between 2016 and 2020.
