The current series is potentially poised to take some dramatic twists with the return of Casa Amor, which will see the boys and girls being separated and new bombshells being introduced to help shake things up.

The official 'Love Island Twitter account has posted a video of a flashing Casa Amor sign and captioned it: "It's almost *that* time... [heart, eyes and fire emojis] #LoveIsland (sic)"

ITV has not yet confirmed when the new bombshells will be introduced. However, host Laura Whitmore recently teased the return of Casa Amor, suggesting it'll be a definitive moment in the series.

Speaking about the current series during a Q&A on Instagram, Laura shared: "I change my mind everyday, everyday – it's ridiculous how much I change my mind.

"And, also, Casa Amor hasn't happened yet and that just throws a massive spanner in the works so it will all change."

Laura, 36, previously admitted she was eagerly looking forward to hosting the 2021 series, after the pandemic forced it to be cancelled last year.

She shared: "I’ve never worked a summer 'Love Island', so I’d normally be watching it on the telly. I really missed watching it. I couldn’t watch the news anymore. I needed something that was a bit more fun – I think everyone’s the same.

"Having the break from it has made people appreciate it more."

Laura also confessed to being like a "fangirl" on set.

She said: "I always wondered when you see shows like 'Love Island', how do they forget about the cameras, but you can understand how they can forget about them because they’re kind of behind the wall or the glass ... I walked in there, I was like, oh this is a really fun house to be staying in.

"Pretty fangirl to be able to see behind the scenes. Not many people get to do that."
