The 'Love Island' contestants have been banned from smoking in the villa.

The popular dating show is set to return to screens next month for another series but, following a series of complaints about the stars puffing away on cigarettes all the time last year, bosses are clamping down on how many smoking breaks the contestants have.

A source told The Sun newspaper's Bizarre column: "Last year there were more viewer complaints about the amount of smoking than anything else.

"It did feel like someone had a fag in their hand constantly last series, so hopefully viewers will notice the difference."

This year's stars will still be able to have a cigarette from time-to-time, but they'll have to ask producers for permission and they then will be whisked away to a designated smoking shelter away from the villa so that they can give in to their cravings.

The insider explained: "It [them smoking] will still be filmed, but as they'll be alone, there won't be as many gossipy moments as last year."

Not much is known about the forthcoming series of the dating show yet, but it's believed Danny Dyer's daughter Dani, 21, has signed up to take part after she was forced to pull out of its sister show 'Survival of the Fittest' in January when she dislocated her shoulder.

However, the 40-year-old actor isn't pleased about her new job and has warned her not to get frisky on camera because it could ruin her reputation for the foreseeable future.

A source said recently: "Danny wasn't happy about her signing up to do 'Love Island' because he doesn't want her have sex on-screen.

"He thinks it could damage her reputation in years to come. No father wants to see their daughter romping on national TV. He's imposed a strict no-bonking ban as he doesn't want her to do anything she regrets. He doesn't even want her to snog anyone."
