The 30-year-old TV star is reportedly poised to take a 20 percent stake in the sports club and has seemingly wasted little time in putting his showbiz contacts book to good use, convincing Jamie to sign for the Isthmian League outfit.

A source said: "Mark's involvement is already paying off as the club can now attract these big names.

"Jamie is still only 30 so he's got a lot to offer."

Jamie played for the likes of Tottenham Hotspur and Wolverhampton Wanderers during the peak of his career, but has recently become better known for his off-field antics, including his turbulent relationship with ex-wife Danielle Lloyd.

More recently, Jamie was linked with Bianca Gascoigne following their time together in the 'Celebrity Big Brother' house.

But Bianca, 30, has insisted she no longer has any interest in pursuing a relationship with the soccer player, revealing she won't ever forgive him for dumping her to go back to his ex-girlfriend Elizabeth-Jayne Tierney.

Asked about the possibility of rekindling her romance with Jamie, the curvaceous star said: "I'm not interested.

"After what's happened, you can't dump your recent girlfriend and come back to me - no, that's not my style."

Bianca said any hope of establishing a relationship has now passed.

She said: "That ship has now sailed for me and Jamie. I wouldn't like to think I'm the type of girl who would take someone back after that."
