For weeks, Netflix have been teasing their next Marvel original series The Punisher, and now finally the streaming service have delivered the release date for the show, in the second official trailer. Check it out below:

Following the revenge he took against those who were responsible for the deaths of his family, Frank Castle aka The Punisher (Jon Bernthal) has made a name for himself throughout the city of New York.

Uncovering a conspiracy that runs deeper than the criminal underworld that flows through NYC, Frank is tasked with uncovering the truth about the conspiracy if he’s to help out those who are affected by the injustices that come thick and fast.

Steve Lightfoot serves as executive producer on the series, alongside Jim Chory and Marvel’s Head of Television, Jeph Loeb. Marvel Television produce the show in association with ABC Studios for Netflix.

Bernthal stars in the titular role, with the cast being fleshed out by Ebon Moss-Bachrach, Deborah Ann Woll, Ben Barnes, Amber Rose Revah, Michael Nathanson, Jaime Ray Newman, Jason R Moore, Daniel Webber and Paul Schulze.

Whilst many are theorising that Frank’s solo series will allow viewers to see a more human side of him, it’s already been noted by cast and crew that he won’t be venturing into ‘hero’ territory any time soon like his fellow Netflix-meets-Marvel crime fighters.

Following his solo outing, the future of Frank Castle is unknown. It’s very possible that he could venture into Daredevil once more, or even take up a role in Jessica Jones, Luke Cage or Iron Fist moving forward. Whatever the case may be, we don’t expect him to just up and disappear once The Punisher hits Netflix. His popularity is too immense.

The Punisher comes to Netflix on November 17, 2017.
