The 26-year-old pop star has joined the judging panel of the ITV show, and Meghan has revealed she's fulfilled a long-held ambition by working on the programme.

She shared: "It's always been a dream of mine to be on a show like this so I felt like a kid at Christmas.

"I knew it would be a fun time and a lot of hours and I'd fall in love with these people but I didn't realise it would be this fun, like last week I left and I teared up as I was leaving."

Meghan admitted that there have been some emotional moments during her time on the singing contest.

She told The Sun Online: "It's horrible in the moment to not press a button and to hear the crowds disappointment and to hear them walk off, like we can hear footsteps.

"But we don't hear the stories, so watching it back with the stories we are just kicking ourselves more, it's like: 'Oh, I hate myself.'"

In fact, Meghan revealed that she and fellow judges Olly Murs and will.i.am were all reduced to tears during the show.

The American star explained that Sir Tom Jones was the only member of the judging panel who did not shed any tears.

She said: "I cry once, Olly cries - Olly's got a good cry coming up. All of us cry except for Tom, all of us cry at one point - even Will."
