The 42-year-old comedian was subjected to a terrifying ordeal on Monday (04.06.18) when two hammer-wielding men on mopeds smashed the windscreen of his car and stole his £15,000 watch while he was doing the school run in London, but he put the incident behind him to return to his tour in Dublin, and even claimed he was planning to move to Ireland in the wake of the attack.

Speaking on stage at the 3Arena, he quipped: "It's great to be here, in fact I'm moving here, f**k London.

"It hasn't been a great week. But I'm OK, we're OK.

"I could have done with you lot this week, 9000 Dubliners. Instead I was left to fend for myself. It didn't go well."

And Michael - who has two sons, Lucas, 13, and Oscar, 10, with his aromatherapist wife Kitty - also poked fun at losing his expensive timepiece.

He said: "People have been so nice, saying time is a great healer. Yeah but I don't know what time it is, as I've lost my f***ing watch."

Despite appearing to be in good spirits, the former 'Britain's Got Talent' judge admitted he had been having second thoughts about doing the show.

He confessed: "I'm going to be honest with you, it was touch and go whether I came here. But I'm so glad I did."

Following the robbery, an onlooker revealed the comic seemed "in a state of shock" over what had happened.

The source said: ""Michael looked distraught and in a state of shock after what happened. It must have been terrifying. A woman who looked like his wife also seemed very upset and in tears.

"The police were on the scene very quickly."

A Scotland Yard spokesman later confirmed: "Police were called at 1.59pm on Monday, 4 June to reports of a robbery in North End Road, NW11.

"Officers attended. The victim was stationary in his car when two males on a moped smashed the car windows with a hammer before stealing property.

"No injuries were reported. No arrests have been made. Enquiries continue."
