The 41-year-old comedian may have picked up a BAFTA at last night's (14.05.17) ceremony in London for his series 'Michael McIntyre's Big Show' but he hasn't always had such success and has admitted his 'The Michael McIntyre Chat Show', which ran for one instalment in 2014 and was heavily criticised, was a complete flop.

Speaking backstage at the event after he picked up his gong, he said: "Awkward. I did once have a chat show - I'm thrilled you remember it. I bought the format and removed it from the face of the Earth. Good luck finding that!

"I did try that and it turned out I didn't like sitting. That wasn't a great format for me. I'm genuinely pleased there are people who haven't seen it! I've tried shows in television studios and let's just say I wasn't standing here after those!"

And Michael has teased that the crew like to think outside the box when it comes to series but he doesn't stress if their ideas don't always work out for the better.

He said: "We had some things that didn't work, like the thing with identical twins, which was just too confusing. It just confused everybody and that didn't make the light of day. We try things and if it doesn't work you don't get to see it. Like the chat show!"
