The 30-year-old TV star - who previously played Tina McIntyre on ITV's 'Coronation Street' - is to be the central figure in the opening episode of the 15th series of the show, which helps celebrities to learn more about their ancestors.

In the episode, Michelle - who is married to former reality star Mark Wright - makes a shock discovery about her connections to Suffragettes leader Emmeline Pankhurst.

Other big-name guests set to star in the upcoming series include the likes of Judge Rinder and 'Broadchurch' actress Olivia Colman, who will travel to India to learn more about her family's history.

The BBC announced the return of the programme by saying: "From adultery to asylums, illicit drinking dens to revolutions, our celebrities travel round the world, from Gibraltar to Genoa, India, Jamaica, South Africa and Latvia, as they solve the mysteries in their family trees.

"Series 15 reveals shocking discoveries, laughter and tears along the way."

Meanwhile, Michelle previously claimed she is "too scared" to have cosmetic surgery.

The 'Our Girl' actress regularly finds herself at the centre of plastic surgery rumours, but she's adamant she has never been under the knife and doesn't plan to either because she's terrified it'll go wrong.

The British beauty said: "I like the fact people point out they think I've had a nose job. They think I've had new cheeks, a new chin - but I haven't and I don't think I ever would, if I'm being honest. I'm scared it'll go wrong."
