Netflix aren’t playing around when it comes to promoting their upcoming original series Lost In Space; a reboot of the 1960s sci-fi original, and one that looks set to push the boundaries of exciting new television. This week, a new featurette for the show has been released, taking a look at the journey the Robinson Family – the group at the centre of the story – will take before their lives change forever. You can watch the teaser below:

Taking place three decades into the future, Lost In Space sees colonisation in space now a reality, with the Robinson Family amongst those tested to be sent out to make a life for themselves in an all-new world. Grouped up with a bunch of other colonists, the family find themselves thrown off course on the way to their new home, forcing them to forge alliances with strangers in a bid to survive a dangerous alien environment.

Toby Stephens, Molly Parker, Mina Sundwall, Taylor Russell, and Max Jenkins all star in the series as the Robinson Family, whilst Parker Posey takes on the role of “master manipulator” Dr. Smith, and Ignacio Serricchio plays “highly-skilled, blue collar contractor” Don West, who never wanted to be a part of the colony in the first place.

Produced by Legendary Television, Lost In Space is written by Matt Sazama and Burk Sharpless, with Zack Estrin serving as showrunner. All three also serve as executive producers alongside Synthesis Entertainment’s Kevin Burns and Jon Jashni, with Applebox’s Neil Marshall and Marc Helwig.

Lost In Space launches on Netflix on April 13, 2018.
