The show premiered on June 4th, 2021, and around 60 million member households tuned in to watch the show within the first four weeks of its release.

The series follows Gus (Christian Convery), a hybrid between a deer and a human, whose life is in danger because the world is afraid of people like him.

A virus has plagued the Earth, and many believe that hybrids are at fault. While some contend with the ideas that hybrids may be the cause or result of the world falling apart, many simply wish to rid their planet of people like Gus.

Season two will seemingly start where the first one left off, and give us more of wonderful Gus and his tenacious attitude.

After living in a safe and secure forest home for an entire decade, deer-boy Gus unexpectedly befriends an aimless loner named Jepperd (Nonso Anozie). Together, the pair set out to discover what is left of America, and to seek out answers.

Gus wants to find out more about his origins and Jepperd’s past, and learn the true meaning of home; since the world is seemingly still against him, he must fight harder to survive in a world in which he is seen as a monster.

However, their journey doesn’t go smoothly as it is full of dangerous enemies and unexpected allies, and Gus discovers that the world outside the forest is more complicated than he ever thought it could be.

The cast of the show were sent mystery packages from Netflix containing a huge bar of chocolate, with the announcement of a second season engraved onto it. The video shows cast members’ joy at the news of a second season, and it’s clear everyone involved adores this series and can’t wait to get another season underway.
