Dexter has been a popular show since its first episode, which aired in 2006. Since then, eight seasons of the gruesome series have released, with the final episode of season eight coming out in 2013. However, it seems the serial killer isn’t done yet...

Sky Atlantic have recently announced that a new series, Dexter: New Blood, still with Dexter (Michael C. Hall) in the spotlight, will be launching this November (2021).

Hall is reprising his role as America’s favourite serial killer, Dexter Morgan, in the upcoming series Dexter: New Blood. As well as Hall, other returning cast members include Julia Jones (The Mandalorian) Jack Alcott (The Good Lord Bird), Alano Miller (Sylvie’s Love), with Johnny Sequoyah (Believe) and Clancy Brown (The Crown, Billions).

The series will consist of 10 one-hour episodes, all with a deadly narrative for fans to follow.

Dexter: New Blood will be set a whole decade after the titular character went missing amidst the horrific event that was Hurricane Laura. The forthcoming season sees the washed-up murderer living under a false name (James Lindsey) in a small, unassuming town called Iron Lake, in New York.

While Dexter seems to be embracing his new life in Iron Lake, unforeseen events in a community where everyone seems to know everyone, his Dark Passenger calls for him...

After almost 10 years, Dexter is back and fans couldn’t be more excited. People still discuss the season with high praise, and highly recommend it to others. Dexter was a binge-worthy show in the eyes of many; could Dexter: New Blood be the same?

The trailer for the upcoming series boasts an ominous, eerie narrative that will no doubt draw fans in, much like the original show. It seems that, despite his previous actions and a wish to stay out of the sightline of the police, ‘James’ has found love with a police officer, of all people.

Can Dexter keep his identity hidden and his new slate clean? Only time will tell...

Dexter: New Blood will arrive on Sky Atlantic and NOW on November 8th, 2021 at 10pm; new episodes will be released every Monday.
