From writer and director Joseph Gordon-Levitt, comes brand-new series Mr. Corman, focusing on a schoolteacher who appears like the perfect professional at work, but his home life brings him a mixture of anxiety and confusion.

The first two episodes of this ten-part series will be available on Apple TV+ from August 6th, with new episodes releasing every Friday.

Apple TV+ offers premium, compelling drama and comedy series, feature films, ground-breaking documentaries, kids and family entertainment, and is available to watch across all your favourite screens.

Mr. Corman follows Josh Corman, a musical artist at heart whose career in music hasn’t exactly panned out; instead of having the job he dreams of, he teaches the fifth grade at a public school in San Fernando Valley.

His ex-fiancée has moved out, and a friend from high school, who seems to get on Josh’s every last nerve, has moved in. While Josh knows he should be grateful for everything wonderful in his life, he cannot help but be trapped in a web of anxiety, melancholy, and the feeling that he might “suck as a person”.

The trailer for this series shows it to be a funny, dark, wonderful and heartfelt journey of a man who can’t seem to accept that when you’re grown up, not everything works out the way you want it to.

Mr. Corman is set to be a relatable comedy-drama, about the ups and downs of being an adult. While it is true that not everything goes the way you planned, that doesn’t mean that you can’t have fun; and that is what Josh wants for himself, to be more positive and start loving life again.

The brilliant trailer sees Josh really struggle with being happy, and his job teaching enthusiastic nine-to 10-year-olds doesn’t seem to be helping him relieve stress. We see him battle with himself over and over again as he tries to cope with the disappointment of life.

As well as Gordon-Levitt in the lead role, the series also stars Arturo Castro, Debra Winger, Bobby Hall aka Logic, Alexander Jo, Juno Temple, Jamie Chung, Shannon Woodward and Hector Hernandez.

Produced for Apple TV+ by A24, Mr. Corman was created, directed, and executive produced by Gordon-Levitt, along with Bruce Eric Kaplan, Ravi Nandan and Inman Young; Pamela Harvey-White serves as producer.

This comedy-drama to be aiming to suggest that despite having good things in life, stress can always creep its way in; the moral of the story appears to be to keep going, and deal with adversity head on.

Mr. Corman will premier on Apple TV+ on August 6th, 2021, with new episodes weekly.
