The 'DIY SOS' presenter has agreed to host the broadcaster's new brainchild as he will help members of the public find a sentimental piece of art on a £500 budget.

A source told The Sun newspaper's Bizarre column: "'In Home Is Where The Art Is', Nick will help members of the public find a piece of art which means something to them, such as something that brings back memories of a dead pet.

"The participants have to be willing to spend between £100 and £500 on the art, and Nick and the team will go on the hunt for a perfect bit of art to mark a special occasion. It could be a birthday, an anniversary or a tribute to someone who has died. They could also have a piece commissioned within the price limit."

The finer details of the show are still being ironed out and the decision about whether it will actually make it onto screen will be reliant on the success of a pilot episode.

The insider explained: "It does feel like a show that had its name before a format. It's just a pilot for now, but the BBC and Nick are hoping it'll be made into a full series."

'Home Is Where The Art Is' will take the 55-year-old presenter down a route he hasn't experienced before as he's used to mucking in with house renovations on 'DIY SOS'.

He's also got a few game shows under his belt - 'Who Dares Wins', 'Break The Safe' and '5-Star Family Reunion' - as well as factual programmes and wildlife shows.
