The 'Great British Bake Off' judge has had to give up exerise after suffering a painful lump in his stomach, and he's put the blame on his time rolling out dough.

Speaking during a Q&A at Chatsworth Fair, he's quoted by The Sun's TV Bizarre column as saying: "I don't [exercise] really. I've got diagnosed with a little hernia here [pointing to his tummy]. It's from years of baking."

The 52-year-old star revealed he discovered the condition after experiencing cramps while training, and later deciding to get checked out.

He added: "I was starting to get into boxing and I did martial arts for 15 years.

"I started training again and I was cramping up and I didn't know what it was.

"When it's sorted I'll be back training but at the moment nothing ... just eating all the time. Trying to get it sorted."

Paul isn't slowing down though, as it was revealed last month he is heading Stateside after landing himself a new five-part cookery series, 'Paul Goes to Hollywood', which will see him jump on the back on a Harley Davidson motorbike for a 3,000-mile trip across the pond.

The TV presenter will visit different culinary locations which have featured in iconic Hollywood films, making pit-stops at New York's Lenny's Pizzeria, which featured in 'Saturday Night Fever', and he will head to Los Angeles to dine at Bob's Big Boy Diner from 'Pulp Fiction'.

Kirsty Hanson, commissioning editor at UKTV, said: "We are thrilled to be working with Paul Hollywood on this perfect combination of the nation's love of travel, film and baking.

"This series is packed full of adventure and fun and will make an excellent show for both film fans and foodies."
