The show's boss Simon Cowell is said to have given the 57-year-old choreographer a "lucrative deal" to join him and Lous Walsh on the panel for 'The X Factor: All Stars' because he thinks his "great on-screen chemistry" with the dancer-and-singer will make for "electric and entertaining viewing".

Paula worked with Simon as one of the original judges on 'American Idol' from 2002 to 2009, as well as the US version of 'The X Factor' in 2011, and now she's set to return to role.

An insider told The Sun newspaper's Bizarre TV column: "Paula is a close friend of Simon's and they've always kept in touch since working together in America.

"She is part of the Syco family and they all work closely together.

"Paula and Simon have great on-screen chemistry and their banter is funny and entertaining.

"Simon feels comfortable sitting next to her and knows they'll have a laugh and wind each other up, which will make for electric and entertaining viewing.

"Simon has handed her a lucrative contract to ensure she's happy and it's worth her while financially."

Leona Lewis, Alexandra Burke and Fleur East are among the stars said to be in talks to appear on the 'All Stars' series.

Meanwhile, Louis, Simon and Nicole Scherzinger are set to judge the upcoming 'Celebrity' version of 'The X Factor'.

The likes of 'Love Island' stars Wes Nelson, Samira Mighty, Eyal Booker and Zara McDermott are among the names rumoured to be taking part.

'The X Factor: Celebrity' will air on ITV in October.
