The 56-year-old presenter - who quit 'Good Morning Britain' earlier this year after being challenged about comments he made about Meghan, Duchess of Sussex - could be set for a return to screens, according to his latest Instagram post.

Piers posted an image of Leonardo DiCaprio raising a glass from a scene in 'The Great Gatsby', with the caption: “Cheers to all my haters! Be patient. So much more is coming.”

He added an emoji wearing sunglasses as his only comment on the post but fans are hopeful that it means a return is on the way.

Piers recently revealed he was brutally shot down by Holly Willoughby after he suggested they work together on 'GMB'.

He wrote in his Mail On Sunday column: "Holly & Piers – CAN THEY SAVE GMB?’ screams the new cover of Woman magazine.

"I wouldn’t hold your breath for this particular TV dream team. ‘I want the biggest dressing room,’ I texted Ms Willoughby. ‘You can have it,’ she replied. ‘I won’t be there.’"

However, Piers previously explained that Holly advised him to go to a meditation session when he quit 'GMB' in March after accusing the Duchess of Sussex of lying about her suicidal thoughts.

He said: "Holly Willoughby was more concerned about my blood pressure from all the 'GMB' ranting. Holly then sent me a link to one that costs £249 for seven hours of meditation technique training live broadcasted to my home which would include advice on 'managing difficult situations, nailing interviews and making hangovers less horrible'."
