The restaurateur may be 77 years old and her spouse John Playfair, whom she married five months ago, 70 but she's not letting their age stand in the way of their spicy bedroom antics and has admitted their naughty behaviour behind closed doors is better than ever right now.

Speaking to The Sun newspaper, she said: "It's surprising how you can behave like a 16-year-old in your 60s, or a 17-year-old in your 70s. You know, it's exactly the same. You fall in love with somebody, you start worrying why the phone is not ringing and thinking, 'Can I ring him?'.

"Is romance dead for me? I got married five months ago. He's a great guy, too. He's lovely and he's my toyboy. I'm 77 and he's 70, so he's a mere boy. It's enlivening. An awful lot of older women do have love affairs or wish they were having love affairs. I think the most important thing in the whole world is love and relationships and if you don't have them it's quite bad."

Prue and John first hit it off at a dinner party six years ago and, just days later, he had turned up at her home on his motorbike with a handwritten note asking her out sat in his shirt pocket.

But the legendary cook is no stranger to a love affair as at the age of 21 she struck up a relationship with the husband of her mother's best friend, Rayne Kruger.

And, after a 13 year fling, they got hitched and remained married until his death in 2002.
