The 'Never Gonna Give You Up' hitmaker has been in the thoughts of the Channel 4 soap's fans for a number of weeks after Daisy's alter-ego Kim Butterfield sought solace by speaking to a poster of the singing legend, after she was kidnapped by Ryan Knight (Duncan James) and locked up in the school.

And the 27-year-old star admitted she and the 52-year-old singer are now "best mates" after the storyline brought them together.

Speaking in a 'Hollyoaks' Facebook Live, she said: "I've got something really exciting for you guys - I want to introduce you to someone who means a lot to me and a lot to Kim ... it's Rick!

"We're just hanging out. We're bessies now. I've had the best night ever."

Rick added: "I haven't given her up and I haven't let her down."

The 'Together Forever' hitmaker also admitted he feels like he is in "the right place" alongside Daisy.

When asked how it feels to be Kim's guardian angel, he replied: "It feels like I'm in the right place, that's what it feels like."

'Hollyoaks' also marked the occasion by sharing a photo of Daisy and Rick on their Instagram account.

The caption read: "IT HAPPENED!! When @daisy_wood_davis met @officialrickastley... for real! He actually spoke back this time! (sic)"

The pair's meeting comes after Daisy recently revealed she had sent Rick "several tweets" to try to convince him to make a cameo in the soap.

She said: "I've tweeted him several times, but he hasn't replied.

"I was hoping he'd make a cameo in the show - it would be great to have him as a figment of Kim's imagination."
