Rough Copy

Rough Copy were voted off 'The X Factor' in tonight's (08.12.13) semi-final.

The group, comprised of members Sterling Ramsey, 28, Joey James, 27 and Kazeem Ajobe, 24, were forced to leave the competition after securing less votes than Luke Friend, who also landed in the bottom two.

The trio, who were mentored by Gary Barlow, performed 'End of the Road' by Boyz II Men in bid to prove they deserved a place in next week's final but the judges couldn't agree on which act to save.

Gary and Nicole Scherzinger tried to save them and Louis Walsh voted to save his act before an emotional Sharon Osbourne sent the decision to Deadlock to let the public decide after Luke, 17, performed Keane's 'Somewhere Only We Know.'

Upon hearing the result, Joey said: "Just being here is a highlight. I thank Gary for everything he has done for us. I thank the whole 'X Factor' team for everything they have done for us. I thank all our friends and family for always being here."

Gary admitted that he was "gutted" not to have an act in the final, saying: "I know. I'm really disappointed for the boys, but obviously at this point we've seen all the acts put so much heart and soul into it. Of course, I'm pleased for the other three acts, but I'm really gutted for the boys."

The result means that Luke, Sam Bailey and Nicholas McDonald will battle it out in the live final, which begins next Saturday (14.12.13) at 8pm on ITV.

Gary Barlow and Elton John, The Killers, One Direction, Katy Perry and Tom Odell will also perform.
