The 'EastEnders' star's alter ego is in a dark place after she was sexually assaulted by Ross Swinden (Ossian Luke) and Matt Clarkson (Mitchell Hunt), and the Queen Vic land lady will have people to help.

She told Metro.co.uk: "Obviously she has [Stacey Fowler (Lacey Turner)] who has been through the same thing.

"But there are nice scenes with Kellie Bright and with Shona McGarty as Linda and Whitney are women who have had similar experiences. It's nice to show women supporting women."

An upcoming episode of the BBC soap will be set entirely in the pub, with various characters giving their viewers on sexual assault and consent.

Louisa added: "What happens at the end of the big episode is that she exposes that it is her who has been raped.

"Following on from that, she is quite worried about the different opinions and that people wouldn't believe her.

"Going forward, she kind of comes in and out of being strong and facing it and hiding away in her house thinking 'what have I done?' She goes through many different emotions as the weeks go on."

On Monday's (26.11.18) episode, Ruby will be told Ross Swinden (Ossian Luke) and Matt Clarkson (Mitchell Hunt) have been charged with rape after she reported having non-consensual sex with them.

But Ruby looks set to develop a romantic interest in Jay Brown (Jamie Borthwick) when he comforts her after the sexual assault makes front page news.
