Rufus Hound will return for "one last skate" in the 'Dancing On Ice' final.

The comedian was booted from the competition after contracting COVID-19, but his professional ice skating partner Robin Johnstone has confirmed the duo will return for a special final performance.

Taking to Instagram, she wrote: "I just want to thank everyone who was supporting Rufus and I this year unfortunately you can not predict what may happen in these crazy times and I’m very sorry Rufus and I can’t continue with @dancingonice . I’m very proud of everything he’s learned and thank you for our fun laughs on the ice. I’m disappointed we couldn’t perform this weeks fun number we had! Rufus I’m so glad you are doing well and thank you to everyone at @itv for keeping everyone safe we are ever grateful to have this opportunity to bring smiles and fun to everyone.

"Looking forward to joining the pros in a few weeks to skate some fabulous numbers and come back for one last skate and spin with Rufus in the final. Xo (sic)"

Rufus confirmed he had to leave the show in a post on social media.He had previously received a free pass to the next week as he was isolating after coming into contact with someone who tested positive.Rufus explained in a video clip: "Having come into contact with someone with Covid and isolating it transpired I have Covid. Unfortunately the rules on Dancing On Ice are cut and dry - very strict."

Matt Richardson will now replace Rufus on the ITV skating show.

A tweet from the show's official Twitter account read: "With the departure of Rufus Hound and Robin Johnstone, comedian @MattRichardson3 and his pro-skater partner @vickyogden1 will be joining the line up from this weekend #DancingOnIce (sic)"
