The 'This Morning' presenters - who have been an item for 13 years and married for almost seven - will present 'The Seven Year Itch' in which they will meet couples who will share what makes their relationships work and share how they have managed to stay together at times of marital strife.

A source told The Sun newspaper: "Ruth and Eamonn are such loveable characters on ITV - so producers jumped at the opportunity to work with them again on a brand new show.

"They've always been amazingly honest on 'This Morning' and 'Loose Women' about their marriage and have always worn their hearts on their sleeves. Like all couples, their relationship has been through ups and downs but in the celebrity world they have one of the strongest bonds."

Ruth and Eamonn, who are both 57, will tour the country to find out how other couples have dealt with the 'itch' which is a psychological term used suggesting that happiness in a relationship declines after seven years and the pair will also share their own experiences.

Show bosses for the forthcoming show, which is expected to come to screens this summer to mark the presenters' wedding anniversary, are currently advertising for couples to participate.

An advert reads: "We're looking for couple to appear in our series who are unhappily married and looking for help, are in the process of having relationship counselling, are in the process of having sex therapy, have an interesting or unique method to keep your marriage happy and healthy or think you are experiencing the seven year itch."
